Shrapnel material should have high modulus of elasticity, good fatigue resistance, appropriate hardness and corrosion resistance. The choice of Stamped Parts material should be based on the working environment of the shrapnel, such as temperature, humidity, corrosion, the required elastic properties, strength requirements and cost and other factors. Proper material selection is the key to ensuring the performance and life of shrapnel during use.

What is the general material of the Hardware Stamping Parts Shrapnel?

1. Spring steel:
Carbon spring steel: For such applications, steels such as SAE 1095, SAE 1074 and others are widely used because they possess high values of elastic limit and tensile strength, and are preferably employed for making shrapnel.
Alloy spring steel: For instance 6150, 60Si2Mn and so on Forging: By adding certain amounts of the alloying elements like silicon, manganese, chromium amongst others the strength as well as the elasticity of the steel is enhanced and especially helpful for the shrapnel which demands higher strength complemented with better fatigue life.

2. Stainless steel:
301 stainless steel: It possesses high elastic limit and good and it is widely used to build shrapnel for use in corrosive environments.
17-7PH Stainless Steel: This is a precipitation hardening stainless alloy with high tensile and impressive elastic properties which make it ideal for manufacturing sharp shrapnel.

3. Nickel-Titanium Alloy (Nitinol):
NiTi alloy: It possesses features of super elasticity and shape memory and has the capability to regain its original shape even under large deformation thereby making it appropriate to be used in making shrapnel that need special elasticity such as springs and catheters in medical field.

4. Copper alloys:
Beryllium copper: It has good and excellent elasticity electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance make it suitable for shrapnel which require electrical conductivity and high elasticity.
Phosphor bronze: It has good elasticity, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance, widely used for manufacturing all kinds of shrapnel especially in environment with high requirement for corrosion resistance.

5. Specialty alloys:
Inconel: This material is referred as high-temperature alloy and still having fairly good elastic properties even at high temperatures which helps to select this material for shrapnel having high temperature conditions.
Monel: With acceptable corrosion resistance and elasticity it is well suited for shrapnel working in corrosive environment.
